In the desert of the US state of Nevada, the company Virgin’s hyperloop has carried passengers for the first time. Two employees covered 500 meters in about 15 seconds. The hover train reached a top speed of 172 kilometers per hour. That is a fraction of the dreamed-for speed of the new transportation system: about 1,000 kilometers per hour.<\/p>\n

The hyperloop, a system that allows people and goods to be transported at speeds of up to 1,000 kilometers per hour in compact pods<\/em> through an overhead or underground vacuum tube, has been in development for years.
